Health Education England

Breaking Barriers Innovations is delighted to be working on its Playbook Programme for 2019 in partnership with Health Education England.

The Playbook Programme, consisting of a series of pilots in 10 locations across England, will develop local solutions for place transformation focused on the social determinants of health and what this means for future workforce development and service delivery.

There will be a concerted focus on testing the current strategies for addressing a range of social determinants of health and associated issues. Together we will assess the degree to which the user voice is being heard and attended to, and also what needs to happen to ensure local residents and service users can contribute to co-design and co-production of new service models.

Crucially, the pilots will include exploration workforce development issues that are thrown up by thinking about new ways or working, and support the development of a robust action plan and service development strategy going forward.

The first two locations for the programme are Cornwall  and Portsmouth, where we will be looking at the links between health on health and social isolation and loneliness respectively. The focus for each is determined by local stakeholders, but the programme will culminate with a national event to share the learning gathered from across the country.
