Delayed Transfers of Care:
New Solutions to Bridging the Care Gap

30th October 2018

The roundtable will offer senior leaders from the NHS and Local Government the chance to discuss the shared challenges of intermediate care and the interface between health and social care, as well as to discuss the solutions Breaking Barriers has identified before they are published in our forthcoming report.

This has been informed by the very latest available data on Delayed Transfers of Care, and BBI analysis of this has led us to concentrate on failings in the care system – in capacity, quality, and integration – as a prime contributor to delayed days.

Event Programme

The main challenges and questions we will be addressing are as follows:

1. What are the barriers to easing patient flow through the system and reducing delayed transfers of care?

2. How are Trusts and Local Authorities intervening to reverse the decline in available care beds, and what are the barriers to new solutions?

3. How will the standard of care be maintained and improved in the face of declining government funding?
